The Glowing Gates to Hell

Ok so this is from Ark: Survival Evolved - Aberration. New map, came out yesterday. It's hard as all shizz and this is a game I have over 1000 hours on (yes I may play this a bit to much, and no there isn't to many 0's) but for now until I level a bit I'm camping at base spawn. Got these beautiful glowing rings in the center of the room. If you follow the path that they are over you get to the main forest area of doom where giant crabs, mutated dogs as well as spinosaurs and Utah raptors all come and kill you...yay. Its also the only place close to me that has water. Friend who was on the phone with me had a enjoyable experience listening to me tying to make my way down to the water. It went a bit like this:
- I make a rope ladder, faint from dehydration, then when I wake up I slip and fall down the cliff and die trying to place the ladder i just made, swearing like a sailor on the way down.
- I try and make my life easier by coming back making another ladder cause my old ladder is now at the bottom of a cliff along with my corpse then when I actually place it an earthquake happens and I nearly fall into the river below.
- I manage to make it to a safe place where the shaking isnt going to knock me off the edge only to find my ladder has clipped through the rock a little so i cant climb down. I'm like ok i can just let go and grab it again. Do so only to find out a second later that the ladder only goes about 1/3 of the way down so I actually DO fall into the river below.
- I start swearing like the Aussie I am (minus the C word) and find a dead croc nearby that some larger predator has killed and get a pike. I run around for a bit trying to find a safe spot i can start collecting to make a new ladder...again. The whole time going, this is pretty much actually commentry minus a bit of swears, "Oh look, a pack of ravagers, and another, oh whats that thing fighting, a scorpion oh cool, hey trikes, oh they r fighting too, what u may ask, raptors, yay for me. oh look if i go this way, which i was for a bit, there is more ravagers, hey I found a little hole in the cliff i can hide in. You know what? I'm just going to jump off a cliff and respawn at my base, this isn't worth it."
- I decide instead of jumping I make use of my time and explore a bit, find a cliff that cause of a giant mushroom i can make it down to a ledge. get on the muchroom and look towards another river. "Oh look something different, 2 spinos and a crab, oops sorry 2 crabs. nope wrong again 4 crabs and 3 spinos, one of which is fighting a croc." I turn around and look at hte area behind the mushroom im on "and we also have a raptor" 
- I spot a vine I can use to cross the cliff to the other side, I look around for the raptor which seems to be gone. then jump down and step onto the vine...i fall through and die. 

so yep this was todays adventure of me leaving my home base for the first time (other than when i died many times when i first started and used this time and dud character to look at all the different spawn zones)
